Expedition series, the new range of tools dedicated to exploration professionals, is enriched with a model with folding blade, the RAO II Expeditions.
The professional tools of the Expedition series offer the same performance, reliability and high quality of all the tactical tools that Extrema Ratio supplies to military and law enforcement special forces. Thanks to its structure, RAO II Expeditions is an instrument which, despite its compact dimensions, manages to guarantee the functionality and characteristics of a product with larger dimensions and sturdiness. Like the other models belonging to the Expeditions series, the RAO II Expeditions also features the desert colored handle and sheath.
The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel heat treated to 58 HRC with MIL-C-13924 burnishing and stone washed surface treatment (Dark Stone finish).
RAO II Expeditions is equipped with an ergonomic handle with rounded upper sides of the handle and a Drop-point blade. It derives from the RAO model with Tanto pointed blade, adopted by the 185th Rgt. Reconnaissance and Acquisition of “FOLGORE” Objectives (185th RAO).
The new folding knife from the Expeditions series is easy to use in all heavy jobs thanks also to the particularly resistant opening lock mechanism, supported by a safety system that transforms it into a real fixed blade.
To guarantee 100% tightness of the locking mechanism, due to the heavy use and the violence of the blows determined by the mass of the instrument, a threaded steel pin was applied which finds its seat in the two holes on the guard of the massive scales in anticorodal aluminium.
By screwing the pin in this location, maximum safety is guaranteed to the user. All models in the Expeditions series are accompanied by desert-colored sheaths and are supplied among the various tools with a firesteel for lighting fires.
RAO II Expeditions is no exception and comes with a desert cordura sheath which is an essential component of the carry system. This particular sheath allows you to carry the knife with the blade closed by placing it in the appropriate front pocket, or with the blade open by inserting it into the dedicated compartment which features a safety system consisting of a lace with double clip. In addition to the firesteel there is also a diamond resharpener.
The MOLLE system of the sheath fastening system allows it to be worn on tactical vests and generic belts.
