The Extrema Ratio Misericordia Desert is a knife that retains all the key features of the renowned Misericordia model, initially adopted by the 4th Alpine Parachute Regiment. This version was created as a commemorative dagger in honor of the 140th anniversary of the 4th Alpine Regiment and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Alpine Parachutists. It serves as a tactical fixed blade knife designed for situations where a knife must be exceptionally lightweight and compact.
In addition to its practicality, the new desert color option aligns with the preferences of modern operational units. The blade is precision-milled from Böhler N690 steel and is hardened to 58 HRC, striking a balance between edge retention and strength. It measures 118mm in length, 4mm in thickness, and features a flat edge. Remarkably, the knife weighs just 87g.
The blade has a spear point design with a full-length fuller, reducing its weight even further, and a ¾ length false profile. The stone-washed finish adds a distinct touch. The polymer handle of the knife includes the signature Extrema Ratio shells, enhancing grip security. It's securely attached to the tang with a through screw. At the rear end of the handle, it seamlessly connects to a large ring equipped with a "skull crusher" extension, allowing for martial arts techniques and ensuring a secure grip.
Because this knife is intended for professional use, considerable attention has been devoted to ease of carrying, accessibility, and quick extraction when needed. The knife is held in the sheath by a quick-release safety mechanism that can be easily adjusted for left-handed use. The sheath, also in desert color, is constructed from high-strength Nylon and offers versatility with two adjustable loops, making it compatible with MOLLE systems for swift retrieval in various tactical scenarios. An optional Kydex sheath is also available for separate purchase and includes two Velcro strips, enabling concealed carry between a bulletproof vest and magazine pouch. This sheath also offers the option of attaching it to a belt using a Belt Clip (sold separately).
