An uncoated blade is a traditional finishing style for a Finnish knife. The face of the blade is left black after hardening. The bevel of an uncoated blade is polished. It is crucial to remember that an uncoated blade is prone to corrosion. Therefore, ensure proper care for your knife by keeping it dry and regularly applying oil. Care and maintenance instructions for the knife are provided with the packaging.
The blade is manufactured by Laurin Metalli Oy in Finland. The carbon steel blade of the knife is hardened to a 59HRC level, allowing the knife to maintain its sharpness for a long time without, for example, chipping or breaking. Both the saber grind and the traditional scandi grind of the blade ensure excellent cutting performance in all conditions.

Excellent cutting performance
- Ranger Puukko's blade is crafted at the workshop of Laurin Metalli Oy in Kauhava, Finland. The knife's blade is made of a coated or non-coated 80CrV2 carbon steel. Coatings protect the otherwise rust-prone carbon steel from corrosion and reduces friction and the adhesion of dirt. PTFE (Teflon) coating also meets the requirements for food safety certification.
