- Ergonomically-designed handle of beautiful curly birch wood with a polished finish. The wood is stabilised by vacuum injecting acrylics which makes it stable, durable, and resistant to moisture and dirt
- Sturdy welted sheath in vegetable-tanned European leather with a draining hole
- Swedish Stainless steel 14C28N from Sandvik. The blade, following a special Cryogenic hardening routine, holds an edge really well
- Scandinavian grind, along with the steel properties, makes the knife robust, effective for wood carving, and easy to sharpen in the outdoors
All Casström knives are cryo-quenched. Cryogenic hardening is a treatment process where the steel is cooled to very cold temperatures with the use of liquid nitrogen. This enhances the performance of the steel at a molecular level and in practical terms, gives the blade more wear resistance and is less prone to chipping compared to a blade with the same hardness that was not cryogenically quenched.
