The best-selling **Vario** from **Katadyn** is a fast-pumping and user-friendly water purification pump, ideal for camping, hiking, paddling, and hunting/fishing. The Vario uses a three-stage filtration system: a high-performance glass fiber filter, an adjustable ceramic pre-filter (depending on water turbidity), and activated carbon to eliminate unpleasant odors and tastes.
The water flow rate is adjustable, up to **2 liters per minute**, and the filter capacity is up to **2,000 liters**. The carbon filter should be replaced after **400 liters**—or when the water starts to taste or smell more than usual—or after **6 months** of use, whichever comes first.
It’s compatible with most outdoor bottles and hydration systems. One-liter **Nalgene wide-mouth bottles** (with a 63 mm opening) can be connected directly to the bottom of the pump, or you can use the output hose to fill various types of containers.
